The Cost of Grace

When I stand before the throne,
Dressed in beauty not my own.
When I see you as you are,
Love with an unsinning heart.
Then Lord shall I fully know
Not till then how much I owe.
Though your grace is freely giv’n,
Grace is never free.

Who could hope to pay the price,
Give his life a sacrifice.
Though a good man dare to die,
There is still a cost too high.
But the Lord of heaven and earth
Came to us through lowly birth.
Fully God and fully man,
God eternal plan.

Now is justice satisfied,
Before God I am justified.
Where are my accusers now,
None that heaven will allow.
Now my conscience is at peace,
Christ has purchased my release.
In your Word I now believe,
I am truly free.
